Most of candidates who are doing M.Tech from IITs in mechatronics are from ECE department. Some of them are form mechanical branch also. IIT Patna is offering M.Tech in mechatronics.

No IIT offers B.Tech course in Mechatronics Engineering. Only, M.Tech in Mechatronics Engineering course is available at Indian Institute of Technology Patna.

In Mechatronics, inputs are provided and in Robotics the robotic systems acquire inputs. So it cannot be said that Mechatronics and Robotics are the same.
