in choice filling list at the time of counseling how can i sort them.... (for any entrance exam... please teach me the choice filling rule)

Swarnabha Das 12th Nov, 2020

Dear aspirant

First of all I am explaining you in short the rule of choice  filling.During choice filling you can put any no of choices there and sort them according to your facvourable interest . In every round you will be allotted only one department of one college . According to your sorted choice list the top most available choice with vacant seats will be given to you . If you are happy with that then you lock that and get admission. Otherwise you upgrade. If any of the preceding choice's  seat  becomes vacant then you will get than otherwise you get the allotted seat given to you from the previous round. That's how it works. So choice filling and seat allotment is very vital.

So if you have already selected upgradation then you can't take admission now . Because if you get a new allotted seat then the allotted seat of the previous round will of be no use .

Admission can be done if you confirm the allotted seat given to you and don't upgrade further . Then you go to your respective institution with all the documents and get admitted.

So you must sort your choices according to your priority list. Like you should put your most favourite choice at the first position of thr list and then the 2nd favourite choice in the second position etc.

whats the cutoff details of mbbs college in maharashtra in 2019 (obc)?? is this information helpful?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 10th Nov, 2020

Manu , In 2019, under State Quota, 487 marks secured a seat in Ashwini Rural Medical College under Regional OBC Quota. That was the cut off. And 497 marks secured a seat in Sinhgad Technical Education Societys Smt Kashibai Navale Medical College  under State Quota. This is 2019 data. And if this will be relevant for this year or not needs to be thought about. Because this year things are slightly different.

To give you a brief,  all this while, Maharashtra had 70-30 Regional and State reservations. The State Quota seats were filled divided into 70% Regional quota and 30% State Quota. The 70% Regional quota seats were reserved for Candidates belonging to Vidarbha, Marathwada and Rest of Maharashtra. And the Constitutional quota of Maharashtra was for Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Vimukta Jati/Denotified Tribes, NT-A,B,C,D and OBC. NT-B falls under OBC Category.

Now this has been quashed and it is one Maharashtra one reservation. This is going to considerably increase the cut offs as the no.of Candidates vying for each seat would increase. Compared to 2019, the NEET 2020 cut offs have changed considerably higher than expected. With the top score being 720 which is 19 marks greater than 2019's top score, it is difficult to predict chances. But the OBC cut off for GMCs is expected to be around atleast 560 and above.  For a complete list of colleges that you may have a shot at, please use our College predictor: https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer .
