The college has a total of 28 academic departments such as Departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. Initially, KMC Mangalore was utilizing the clinical facilities of Government Wenlock Hospital and Government Lady Goschen Hospital. In 1977, KMC Mangalore became an independent unit.
