We the method of calculating percentage is very simple. If your marks is 150 and total is 700 then divide 150 by 700 and then multiply it with 100 to get the percentage.
Like, 150÷700=0.214
Now, 0.214*100=21.4%

Well with this rank getting a deemed University is difficult for the good ones. Good Universities have high cut offs like Kasturba medical college in Manipal University and similar ones. But the low ones have less cut off and hence admission becomes a bit easy.
