Yes, if you gives a compartment in 12th class, you can take admission in any college in the same year but with the conditions that you have to clear the compment first to sit in the exam for tbe next class for which you have to take admission.

You have not mentioned the name of the entrance exam that you are talking about. Generally the cutoffs of exams depends upon the number of students appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the question paper and what is the highest score socred.

After getting the admit card you can't change anything as you have to appear for the exam what is written in the admit card and you can't skip the exam. And your result will be on the subject which is written on your admit card.
