Hi, I need some guidance to understand the new NEET eligibility criteria. I finished by 10+2 in 2020 from ISC in Physics, Chemistry, Math, English and Economics. l However, I now regret it since my passion is Medicine. Not having done Biology what next steps should I take to be eligible for NEET?

Hello aspirant

You can't appear for neet this year ie 2024 but yoh must start preparing for neet 2025 now itself if yoh interested in medicine.

As per neet eligibility criteria The candidate must have passed class xii with minimum 50 % marks in physics , chemistry and biology.
English subject is mandatory,  biology is also mandatory.
Now you can do one thing , for biology subject you must join NIOS , fill application form , appear for exam and you will pass biology till June 2024.

NIOS is National Institute of Open Schooling.  Nios marks are accepted everywhere in India. It is government recognized.

NIOS application forms are open .

Is there penalty when you fail in one subject or more?

Tanya Gupta 15th Feb, 2024

Hello,

If you didn't do well in a subject, there's usually a chance for a retest. The process can vary based on the type of exam. For board improvement or compartment exams, there might be a fee involved and also for college back papers. There is no such penalty just for failing a subject but yes, for re appearing or retest, you have to pay a fee. However, you have not mentioned what topic you are talking about, please mention so i can brief properly.

Hope this helps,

Thank you
