I scored 55% in pcm . And i am also a mechanical engineer with 65%.can i join merchant navy

Merchant navy has two departments. One is deck side which looks after navigation ( taking the ship from one point to another or in layman term 'Driver' of the ship) and cargo operations.
Another is engine side which looks after engine, other machineries and all other technical aspect of ship (in layman term u can say they are like 'mechanic' of the ship).
The minimum eligibility for both departments is to have 60% score in PCM more than 50 marks in English in 10th or 12th standard.Also You should be unmarried and Your age should be below 20 years.

Physical Requirements:-
1. Eye Sight = 6/6,
2. Height = 167 cms,
3. Weight = 50 Kg
4. Chest = 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

Can girls join merchant navy by doing bsc with nautical science? And which college is the best for nautical?

Yes,you can apply for the Indian Navy after completing Bsc Nautical science with 60% aggregate marks from any recognized University/institute of India.

Some renowned colleges offering B. Sc. Nautical Science degree are as follows:

1) T.S. Rahman

2) IMU Campuses - Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Navi Mumbai

What is the eligibility criteria for merchant navy

Hi shubham,

You need to pass 12th in PCM with an aggregate of 55%.

Normal vision is preferred but power glasses upto +- 2.5 is allowed.

You should not have any permanent disability.

Selection procedure for UES NAVY ?

   Hey ,
The selection procedure for Indian Naval academy through UES is as follows
1. in the final year of engineering degree, people from naval recruiting directorate will come to your college
2. there will be a group discussion and Personal interview by the officials on the basis of your academics and if you get shortlisted , you will get a call letter for SSB
3. On clearing the test in service selection board , now the candidate has to go through a series of Medical checkup , if the candidate is declared fit by the medical board , results in his final selection
4.now all the candidate has to do is to wait for the merit list , if he makes the cut , then he shall

The selection procedure of technical entry scheme of Navy is as follows
1.the candidate has to be citizen of India or subject to friendly countries
2.after fulfilling the eligibility criteria ,one has to apply for the scheme in the official site of indian navy
3. After making it to the cutoff the candidate receives a call up letter , the call up letter for service selection board
4. On getting selected in services selection board , the candidate has to go through medical test , and if fit , making sure his selection
5.making to the merit list results in call up letter for the academy

   The eyesight requirement for engine cadet in merchant navy is
6/12 in both eyes
Or 6/9 in one and 6/18 in the other eye

The eligibility criteria is - at  least 60 % in PCM and 50 % in English in either 10th or 12th std . So you are not eligible to apply for merchant navy .
There is also a medical fitness test for sea service and with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness .

The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishingclass 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Candidates have to beunmarriedIndian citizens (male or female).
Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.
Admission is through anentrancefollowed by a screening test and a main written examination.
After clearing the test, there is aninterviewand amedicaltest.
You also need to complete aship-training courseprior to the employment. The course is generally short-term where the candidates are taught basic security concerns of voyaging.
There are some private institutes, which offer training for merchant navy as well. These institutes prepare students for jobs such as deck cadets and marine engineering jobs.
60% marks in class12th is required.

I hope you are doing good. First of all, I appreciate your decision to join in Navy. Tanya, there are 6 branches in Navy in which girls can join. 6 branches along with education qualification required are given below:

1. Naval Architecture 

* ELIGIBILITY: An Engineer graduate between age 19 - 25.

* EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Possess at least 60% marks in B.E/ B.Tech degree in any of the following streams: Mechanical. Civil,                     metallurgy, Naval Architecture and Aeronautical. 

2. Observer 

*ELIGIBILITY: An engineering graduate between age 19 - 24.

* EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: B.E/ B.Tech Degree in any discipline with Physics and Maths in 12th.

3. Education

* ELIGIBILITY: 21 - 25 age

* EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: (It has a lot of Education qualification so please browse on the net you could find them).

4. Logistics/Works

* ELIGIBILITY: 19 -25 age

      For Logistics: B.E/ B Tech with any discipline in the 1st class. MBA with 1st Class. B Sc/ B Com with 1st class and PG Diploma in Finance/Logistic, etc. MCA/M sc with 1st class.

     For Works: B.E/ B Tech(Civil)/ B Arch

     For Catering: Msc(HM)/MBA(HM)/B Sc or BA with 1st class and PG Diploma in HM.

5. Law

* ELIGIBILITY: Age 22 - 27.
