MFM
To advance to the interview round for the Master of Fashion Management (MFM) program at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), candidates must perform well in the General Ability Test (GAT). The GAT comprises 150 questions to be answered within 180 minutes.
According to historical data, candidates scoring between 24 and 352 in GAT have been considered for further rounds. However, these figures vary based on the factors such as no. of applicants, exam's difficulty level, and overall candidate performance.
Choosing between the MFM (Master of Fashion Management) and MDes (Master of Design) entrance exams can indeed be tricky when they have different marking schemes. Here are some points that might help you decide which exam to focus on:
Tip : If you're more comfortable with numbers and quantitative analysis, MDes might be more favorable due to the higher number of questions (although it could also mean more time and effort). MFM, with fewer questions, could allow for a quicker pace if you're well-prepared in quantitative subjects.
Tip : MFM has a heavier emphasis on English with 50 questions. If you're good with language skills, MFM could be a better choice, but it might also require more time and focus on the English section. MDes might be easier if English is a weaker area, as it has fewer questions.
If you are stronger in English , go for MFM since it allows you to focus more on language skills. However, if you have a good grasp of both Quantitative Ability and English and are inclined towards design , MDes might be more suitable due to the balance in marks distribution.
Ultimately, base your decision on which subject area excites you the most and where you feel more confident.
