If you are provided a seat as per the general merit rank only, your general rank was sufficient for the same  and category not required. There are a number of reserved seats in a particular collge for reserved candidates. If they are filled, then your general rank comes into role with other students.

Hello Shayeque, as per your question the answer is yes you can get seat through mhtcet in Maharastra as they have nearly 80000-90000 seats for insiders (i.e. maharastrian students) and nearly 10000 seats for students who are not the resident of maharashtra. And fill what category you belong to it might help in getting a good seat.

Your category must have been considered during your admission process. NEET scorecard has both the ranks , ALL INDIA RANK and ALL INDIA categoryr rank. While admission into any any college , it is the ALL INDIA category rank which is taken into consideration for any admission process. Every college has different cutoff for different categories.
