Dear Candidate,
Yes. You can get placed in gigantic tech companies like the ones you mentioned even if you are not from core IT or CS background. Only you need to convince the employers of your skill set. If you have good logical & analytical skills, problem solving & troubleshooting skills. They check how curious you are to solve a given situation & the flexibility you show goes a long way in determining your future too. You can definitely get placed in these big companies irrespective of your different background. There are many examples of students like this in the IT industry.

Hello there,
CGPA does matter though. Every other company has their own set of criterias to be fulfilled as to sit for the tests. You really need to know coding at the tip of your fingers to get into such good companies. If you fulfill their criteria of minimum cgpa then you can definitely sit for the tests and then the rest is in your hands you have to showcase your coding skills then you might land yourself up a job.
Hello Aspirant,
Various companies starts coming a year earlier in July or in 7th semester for placement offers. Companies like Amazon, Bosch, Intel, Dell, Tata Motors, L& T, Schneider, TCS, Accenture, Wipro,a nd many more take part in the placement and hiring process at VIT.
The hiring and placement ends at the year's end starting in mostly in July after of the results of students.
Dear Aspirant,
The cutoff for general companies at VIT is 7.0 however, if you are aiming for the top tech companies, you have to get a 8.5 minimum. Moreover, you must also not have any standing backlog at the times of placement.
Make sure you are good at Data structures and algorithms if you are aiming for these top tech giants.
Hope this helps. Thank you.

Yes you can. Based on the information given on the official website of the college we can see Microsoft included among the list of their past recruiters. So if it is your desire to work in Microsoft, then I suggest that you talk to the Training and Placement Cell and inform them about the same so that they may be able to contact the Microsoft hiring team and do the needful

Hey!
Yes, somehow it depends on university and the candidates' skill. There are many reputed colleges/universities in which Microsoft company visit as a recruiter and offer different jobs to students who are capable enough for the post. For example : company wants a software engineer, and a student candidate has a good academic record in same and has also impressed the HR in interview, then there are very hight chances that he might get job there.
Also, you can directly apply to the company with your resume/CV at various platforms.
Hope I answered your query.
Thank you
