Miranda House
Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that admissions are subjective to the course you are seeking admission in. Admissions can be done on merit basis, entrance based depending on the requirement of course. I suggest you to mention the name of course so that I can provide exact information to you.
Hope this helps. Good luck for your future.
Hello Aspirant,
In general there are 2 ways through which you can get admission to PG courses. One is direct merit based admission if you are DU UG candidate . You will be given seat under the DU quota based on whether you match the cutoff requirements.Another mode is entrance based . Here you have to clear the entrance exam conducted by Delhi University. In order to apply , you need to visit their official websites and fill in the application form for masters.Once you are selected , they will call for interview. However It is better that you contact the departments in each of these colleges if possible, to get proper information regarding the admission procedure.

Greetings, Nirmala.
Based on past year trends of B.A Pol Science and Sociology cut offs, do not expect a drop. In 2019, Sociology final cut off dropped to 96.25% in the 3rd list and closed while Pol Science closed in the first list itself at 98%
This year in 2020, cut off for Pol science (1st list) is 99% and for Sociology it is 98.5%
you can expect both cut offs to drop in the 2nd list by 0.50% or so and if possible by 0.75% by the 3rd list - not more than that.
Decide wisely and do not wait for cut offs to drop especially when it comes to top colleges of DU.
best of luck for your admissions. Good day!
Hello Aspirant...
Cut Offs are given below From the official website
For B.A programme (POLITICAL SCIENCE) -
General ,SC, ST, Pwd , KM, EWS it is closed
OBC it is 97.75%
For B.A programme (Sociology ) -
For general, ST it is closed.
OBC it is 95%
SC it is 93%
PwD it is 93%
KM it is 93.50%
EWS it is 96%
The cut off in many reputed colleges under DU has rocketed to another level this year because many students have performed exceptionally well. This is true for Miranda House too. The cut off for Miranda House fro BA Political Science for SC category for the academic year 2020-21 is 96.50%. Even though it is still not closed, it will not drop by more than 2 percent. As you said, you scored 85%, it is slightly difficult for you to get in Miranda House this year.

Hi
Delhi University can deduct up to 5% in changing of the stream while choosing the course.
The eligibility criteria is taken into consideration by calculating the best of four percentage where 1 language and 3 elective subjects are chosen. It's mandatory to include the subject as an elective subject that you wish too pursue.
If you fail to do this, you'll face a deduction of 2.5% per subject that is changing of the stream.
To know how to calculate best of four marks -

Hello
Miranda College, Delhi is known by all for it's NAAC A+ and NIRF rank 1 hence the cutoff of this college is not below 90% for a general category candidate in any of the courses. Even in the 10th cutoff the cutoff marks for sc category candidates is n0t less than 90% in the best four.
