Yes if you want to get admission in MSc chemistry then entrance exam only contain chemistry ,but if you go for microbiology or biotechnology then you have to study many subjects.

Hpu is famous for these two courses alot.

see you did not mention which exam you are asking about. from domicile point of view you need to give the name of  home state of which you have all domicile certificate and criteria, here birth place did not matter.if you have fulfilled the all the criteria to claim

you may do btech or b.arch courses in nit calicut, but bs ms dual degree course is not offered by any nits, it is offered by iiser (indian institute of science , education and research), through kvpy, /jee advance/ scb channels score.
