Instead of going for NIT. Look for IICT Mumbai.
Also, go for IISC. Even IISER.
Try going into institutes which are known for their excellence in chemistry. NIT is a technical institute. Placements in NIT after doing Msc Chemistry are a tough thing to go with.

I got 58598 inCUSAT CAT in BTech/Msc photonics [general rank]and 846 in community rank[OBC],did I get Civil in SOE ,kochi?

I think, your rank is around 5500, and not 58589, which is not possible. So, with a rank of around 5500, it will be difficult to get Civil in SoE, CUSAT. The cutoff for last year was 3662 for GEN seat and 4859 for OBC(MSM) seat. The
