As per UGC norms candidates can now pursue two degree courses simultaneously provided one is done through distance mode and another through regular mode, pursuing BEd doesn't require any experience as such, its eligibility criteria is passed graduation or post graduation in any discipline with 50% or above aggregate

Nope! Until and unless a Optometrist go to med school to obtain MD/DO degree along with postings as a resident and have passed a examination which authorizes him/her to practice clinically, a Optometrist is ineligible to do surgery.
