Hello,
If you are a Maharashtra state candidate then you need to give MHTCET for sure and you will be admitted on the basis of rank obtained in the examination and also if you clear the cut off for ICT Mumbai.
But if you are from other state you can give jee mains/MHTCET but jee mains will be preferred rather than MHTCET.
So, it is very important to score high in any of the two examination because the ICT Mumbai is one of the topmost college through MHTCET. You need to keep atleast 99 percentile in MHTCET and in jee mains 97-98 atleast .
Yes, you have a good rank, but it won't be enough to get you a category 1 integrated M.Tech seat at the VIT Vellore campus in software engineering. You might be able to receive it in the second group, but the odds are minimal because there are a certain number of seats and the indicated course is the most popular option in integrated programmes. The best possibilities are Integrated CSE at Vellore (1 or 2), Integrated CSE with a Data Science specialisation at Vellore , Integrated CSE at Chennai and Integrated CSE with a business system specialisation at Chennai .
Good Luck!!
Hi,
I would suggest do your BTech first, then if you want to go for an MTech try to get into a top tier college or try in foreign universities.
Enrolling yourself into a 5 year long course right away, isn’t that great an option, because you may have a change of heart after your BTech.
So between BTech in ECE from SRM and integrated MTech from VIT, I’s say go for SRM. Apart from the wonderful infrastructure of the institution, ECE is a pretty great course in SRM, the placements are just as good as the ones that appear for CSE or IT courses, with the placement percentage this year (2022) going as high as 91%.
I hope that was helpful.
Yes, there is a huge scope abroad after studying integrated mtech computer science engineering here in India or in your college VIT Vellore. There are a large number of companies abroad that provide job opportunities to students coming from India.
There are a lot of MNCSs looking for a large number of software engineers. You may also get campus placements in VIT Vellore where companies recruit students and offer jobs abroad.
I hope this helps,
All the best
Dear aspirant,
Even though Data and AI would dominate the tech field in a few years we can say that there will always be job opportunities for doing integrated computer sciences. In your course you will cover the basics required to build on programming. There call a lot of fields that require computer science skill flexibility. By doing an integrated masters you are ensuringthat you have options open and you would be a flexible employee
If at all, you want to get into AI after your masters you can do another masters or take specific courses and internships during your course as well.
Hence, you don't have to worry about the scope.
Hope this helps.

About 85% to 90% of graduates from M.Tech (integrated) are hired by several product-based businesses. All students will receive internships from this course since, in the fourth year, numerous reputable firms visit our campus and employ students for 10-month internships. In those firms, almost 90% of the students receive PPOs. The likelihood of not getting an internship or PPO is less than 10%. VIT will advise you to come up with a different approach for joining service-based businesses.
Except for a few, professors at VIT are excellent. They are all really helpful people that have excellent understanding of the topic. They constantly answer questions and are really helpful to us during an online semester. The course material is excellent. The M.Tech. (integrated) programme is structured so that you will be prepared for the workplace.
