The new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is placed to restructure the existing National Policy on Education which was first developed in 1986 and last modified in 1992. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) will again be renamed as Ministry of Education that was last changed as the HRD ministry in 1985. The new policy brings together UGC, AICTE & NCTE into a single regulatory body with the pupose to bring in coalition in the system. The single regulator will work for all higher education institutions other than the legal and medical colleges. At the college level of the education system, the new university entrance test will be implemented for college admissions in the 2022 academic session all over India. So we can assume that Mumbai University will also implement the same from 2022.

There is no official notification released till now regarding when exactly the pre-admission for mumbai university will commence, it was expected to start by this month but we are already in the middle of July, the delay has been result of the pandemic, also 12th board exam results are to be out by this month, hence you can stay updated at the official website at https://mu.ac.in/admission to exact details pertaining to admission process.

Mumbai University has not yet started the Pre admission for the the various courses offered by it. The pre admission for the Mumbai University is expected to begin in July/August 2021. The concerned statutory body has not yet released the notification and these dates are only tentative. They can vary as per the schedule decided further by the Mumbai University.
