ojaswiyolo Student Expert 6th Aug, 2020

Hey Anshita

First of all I want to tell you that if you wantt o do graduation and persue post graduation after this then please dont tak egeneral bcom and only go for bcom honours , no matter which college provides it. As for your chances in admission to the mentioned colleges I am sorry but Narsee Monjee has a cutoff above 91.8% for general category and St Xaviers too is expected to have a cutoff above 91% for non christians. HR also has a cutoff above 90% and Mithibai and RA Poddar will have no less than 90% as they are premiere colleges. Moreover this year most cbse as well as isc students have got higher than usual marks hence the cutoff is only expected to increase. You can check out the full list at https://university.careers360.com/articles/mumbai-university-cutoff#Mumbai-University-Cut-off-2020--Expected There are some colleges mentioned in this list where you can get admission. All the best.

please suggest choice to B.a psychology, eco, English tripple measure degree from Mount Carmel banglore or B.sc economics from nmims mumbai

Koyel Bagchi 1st Aug, 2020

Hello,

Very honestly there is no comparison possible in between the psychology and economics.  Both are completely different streams.  In case of mount carmel bangalore the psychology bachelor's degree is good and in case of economics then NMIMS is best for it. Both the colleges have their own successful steps. Also both the colleges have good and efficient faculty with proper facilities. Now it is completely upto your choice of interest. Go for your own kind of interest because both the studies have their own career opportunities.

Hope for the best.

Thank you.

PGDM Business Analytics NMIMS Mumbai: What is the course structure

surakshavkandi 31st Jul, 2020

Hello,

Today, analytics is the hour of need and MBA-X in Business analytics from NMIMS’s with upgrad serves the best in current era. It’s a 18 month course now (previously 15 months) with fully loaded, highly experienced faculty with Industry experts works as cherry on the top.

NMIMS is providing MBA-X in Business Analytics under NMIMS Global Access School For Continuing Education (NGA-SCE) in partnership with upgrad. It is one of the flagship courses.

Usually, such online courses come with the certification but the main catch in the course is it gives a full fledged degree. It has all the routine subject of normal MBA like HR, Marketing, Finance, Accounting etc along with subjects covering basics and analysis skills of Python, R, SQL, Tableau etc.

The course is divided into 4 terms with 5 subjects in each and a huge capstone industry relevant project which is 3 months long.

Learning is divided into 2 parts:

a. Pre-recorded sessions by faculties on upgrad platform

b. Weekend live/One-on-One session.

Timely query resolutions, dedicated students’ mentor, examinations conducted, security and sanity of the examination by the upgrad and many other things are worth the course.

Heads up to upgrad, the way they have wrapped up the whole course is totally worth the praise.

All in all this course is loaded with lots of benefits its more of career oriented with NMIMS Alumni status along with Career assistance. So, in case if you are looking to enter the Analytics field or if you have already entered and want to become an expert than definitely this course is for you.

Thank you

Rank these colleges for B.com on the basis of academics, placement and exposure - Mithibai college, Narsee Monjee college of commerce and economics and Kj somaiya college of arts and commerce

saurabhkhade4699 30th Jul, 2020

Hello Tanmay ,

College are meant for learning and college ranking doesn't make college or teaching good but students make them.So its up to you which college you refer and take admission.

If you are good with academics and everything you can get placements from any of these college easily because you have worked hard for it.

But if you want to to rank me I would just prdect my first preference for colleges.

1.Mithabai college

2.Narsee monjee college of commerce

3.K.J Somaiya college of commerce

I got selected for MBtech IT Shirpur for Mukesh Patel school of tech, management, and engineering. Ive applied for an up-gradation for Mumbai campus for the same course. My rank was 2216. What r the chances for me getting the up-gradation.

Kumari Shivani 29th Jul, 2020
Hi there,
In Mukesh Patel Institute of Management and engineering there is nothing like cut off rank for upgradation. However it totally depends on how many people actually give the exam seriously to secure an admission in this college. It is all dependent upon students response to the college.
A lot of people just give the exam for a backup admission eg. the IIT, NIT students and thus do not end up taking the seat.
As you already know that If the top ranker choose to go to in CS and IT that to MBAtech then ur one seat is lost . Not everyone opts the college or the branch .

For Mumbai campus:-
To get an rough idea if your rank is under 600 you would easily get the MBATECH CS '. It also depends on the department , to my information rank 3000 was upgraded in civil department. It depends which branch you are opting and number of students interested in it .
For shirpur campus :-
You should be around 3500 and you have a good chance you may get MBATECH CS. Rank 2000 is confirmed in this zone.
Hope you get selected.

i scored 63% in 12th. will i get admission jn narsee monjee college?

Mayank Chowdhary 28th Jul, 2020

Looks a little difficult especially this year when the cutoffs have risen high considerably. However the final cutoffs are yet to be displayed. Obviously it depends on the number of aspirants, their results, your rank, etcc. But in general as per the previous year analysis with 63% in HSC, admission to Narsee Monjee college looks a little difficult.

Refer to the site below to know more about the same -

Best wishes. Thank you.

kindly suggest for choice of b.sc economics from shiv Nader g.noida or b.sc economics from nmims mumbai

gsarthak707 25th Jul, 2020
Hello,

Shiv Nadar University ( SNU) is a good idea as compared to NMIMS University as the former one offers you facilities lot more than later one. Now if i talk about courses offered, SNU offers you 5 while NMIMS offers you 3 in b.sc economics field. If you compare the fees structure of these two then SNU charges less than NMIMS. SNU charges around 6.5 lakhs for 4 years while NMIMS charges around 7.5 lakhs for 3 years.

Now, to be eligible to get admission into NMIMS requires 60% marks in 12th while SNU requires 80% marks in 12th but if i talk about entrance test NMIMS accept only NPAT exam while SNU accept any of the two test namely : SNUSAT OR APT.

Both are approved by UGC still SNU is a private university with availability of approx 30 seats while NMIMS is a deemed university with availability of approx 60 seats.

Now, i mentioned here enough data in a comparative mode so that you can easily decide which one will be good for you or will suit you the most.
I hope you are satisfied with the answer, wishing you all the very best for your bright future.
Thankyou..
