National Institute of Bank Management, Pune
Hi Aman,
Congratulations on scoring well in CMAT 2019. With that score, a lot of opportunities open up for you. Since you've specifically asked for NIMB here are a few details you could consider while choosing the college.
Regarding the chances, Yes, you have a fair chance of getting into NIMB and with a decent personal interview, it should be a smooth sail to get admission in this college. Apart from that, it is important for you to understand that a keen interest in Banking and financial services would be a boost before you apply for this college and if you're really inclined towards pursuing a career in banking only then go ahead with your choice. Yes, they have heavily finance oriented curriculum and it would be a boost if you have basic knowledge about the same before you enter. A CFA or financial risk analytic certification can also help you in building up your career in the same field.
National Institute Of Banking & Management
If you're interested in only the banking sector, and only general management you could try your hands in government exams as well.
IBPS- PO, CLERK, SBI-PO, CLERK, Various Bank exams
If you're keen about securing a job in a PSU, this exam will help you get there. The syllabus is pretty much the same but will be focused on Aptitude, logical reasoning, and English both in the prelims and the mains stage. You will also have a personal interview stage here. The perks of the job are great with a decent salary, house rent allowance and other yearly perks but one has to be ready to move to rural places depending upon the posting.
RBI- GRADE B, Assistant.
This again is a higher level bak examination but the pattern is quite different. You'd have to be thorough with finance and economics before you attempt this exam and you should go through social issues. Apart from that aptitude and reasoning skills is also quite important.
LIC, NIACL - AAO
These are insurance exams which follow a similar pattern as that of bank exams and thus one has to apply for both while preparing. The perks are comparatively higher here and the workload isn't as much. One gets to be posted in metro regions too.
Good luck!

Hello Praveen Dubey,
Last year the cutoff for CMAT was 93 Percentile. So this year too the cutoff would be similar or higher as of last year. So based on your CMAT score, your chances seems very low. I would suggest you to apply some good colleges based on your percentile.
Hope this will help!
Thanku.
Hi Anuj,
Thanks for A2A.
NIBM Pune is an apex institution set by RBI in 1969. It has a very strong faculty pool and is among the reknowned colleges in India. NIBM will use scores of CAT 2017 / MAT (Feb 2018) / CMAT (2018) for short-listing the candidates. ATMA scores are not being considered anymore in the institute selection. Last year the cutoff for NIBM through CAT was 80 percentile while that for CMAT ended at 93 percentile.
You can try for other good B Schools.
All the best.
