But when you are filling the application form, please mention the name according to your SSC Marks sheet. yes a dentist can also apply for NIPER jee to pursue MDS course. on the part of being eligible or not, have to check the eligibility criteria list:-

1. minimum 60% or 6.75 on scale of 10 required
2. GPAT/NET/GATE score required if a candidate doesn't belongs to MBBS/BVSc/BAMS or a foreign national or a sponsored candidate from private or public college or institute or candidates who are applying as NRI

NIPER JEE offered the MBA,  MS,  Mtech,  Mpharm etc etc.

So for the degree in MD a dentist who can cleared his BDS degree from an equivalent institution obviously eligible for the test.
