National Institute of Technology Calicut
Hello,
Hope you are doing great.
To answer your question before finalizing your decision on which college to choose, it's crucial to first determine whether pursuing Engineering Physics is a suitable option for you. Regardless of the college you ultimately select, it's important to gather key details before making a final decision. A career path after completing Engineering Physics may not be promising, particularly in securing on-campus placements. The demand for Engineering Physics graduates is limited, and only a few companies specifically seek candidates with this degree. Many companies have distinct recruitment processes that do not typically involve on-campus hiring, with the exception of government organizations such as DRDO, BARC, etc.
Hope this helps!!

The Department of Management Studies, NIT Calicut offers a two-year, full-time MBA programme at the postgraduate level. The programme is offered with dual specialisation where students can opt for any two majors among the five specialisations. NIT Calicut MBA admission is based on percentile obtained by candidates in the Common Admission Test (CAT).
Based on the performance of candidates in the CAT followed by the GDPI process, the institute declares the merit list for selected candidates. There is no minimum CAT percentile stipulated by NIT Calicut. General category candidates who have obtained somewhere around 80 percentile in the CAT can apply for admission to the MBA programme. However, mere application does not mean a guaranteed call for the GDPI process.
Getting a GDPI call from NIT Calicut for the MBA programme is based on various factors such as number of candidates who have applied for admission. The CAT percentile could be less for the reserved category candidates. Although, the minimum CAT percentile required for admission is not stated by the institute, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria before applying for admission to the MBA programme as mentioned below:
Eligibility Criteria for Regular Candidates : Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised University, with minimum 60% aggregate (or 6.5 out of 10 CGPA) for candidates who belong to General, OBC and EWS categories and 55% aggregate (or 6.0 out of 10 CGPA) for candidates who belong to SC/ ST category. Eligibility Criteria for Sponsored Category Candidates: (up to 5 students) Candidates sponsored by their employers to pursue an MBA should forward their application through the proper channel. They must have a minimum work experience of three years in the sponsoring organisation, after graduation. Candidates with a valid score in the CAT/ CMAT or equivalent would be preferred. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the Personal Interview.
To know about the CAT percentile before the declaration of actual result, check CAT Percentile Predictor .
I see that you want to do B.arch from nit Calicut or not Trichy , whichever you get. You belong to sc category and being home State , it will be easier for you to get admission in nit Calicut.
If I see previous year closing rank , which was around 600 in round 7. So it is possible that you will get a seat in NIT Calicut till round 6.
But for nit Trichy your rank is too high to get admission in it.
So you will be going in nit Calicut.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
