IIIT ALLAHABAD (it) v/s NIT Durgapur (cse) which one should I choose. IIITs has very high workload and less free time but nits hasnt. What if I didnt able to handle the pressure and endup having low cgpa in iiit(Im category student). Durgapur is my home state.

Priya Patel 27th Sep, 2021

Hello

Both the colleges have its own pros and cons.

The ratio of number of companies visiting campus to nunber of students is more in IIIT Allahabad . In simpler words more opportunity in IIIT Allahabad.

As per ranking IIIT Allahabad is at better position than NIT Durgapur. Even fests are better than that of NIT Durgapur.

In terms of branch.... CSE and IT seems same but both are different a lot CSE deals with mathematics , programming , algorithms, while IT is much more safer side of Computer science it includes Computer fundamentals not in depth study and management/ services skills.

I think you opt for CSE in Durgapur because A computer science graduate can also do a job of IT professional. At NIT Durgapur you'll enjoy all the name and fame of college. Fees is also less and you'll get good job opportunity.

I am a resident of west bengal. I studied in west bengal up to standard 10 but 12 exam given from other state. I am a permanent resident of west bengal. Can I get home state quota in NIT Durgapur?

Anurag Khanna 26th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Yes as per the conditions you have mentioned in the question, you deserve Home state quota for NIT Durgapur and you can advantage of it in JOSAA counselling because for Home state candidates the cut-off goes bit lower as compared to that of Other state candidate because 50% seats are kept reserved for Home state candidates.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

I depends on you. Which you prefer 1st . In which course you have more interest   COMPUTER SCIENCE OR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.

As per my suggestion go for cse because there is more job opportunity for computer science.

And as per your referral college .

NIT SRINAGAR is better than JIM

Can i get integrated msc chemistry in NIT Durgapur or NIT Rourkela with ews rank 33000 in jee main 2021?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 20th Sep, 2021

Hello,

Last year the cut off was as follows for admission to Chemistry (5 Years, Integrated Master of Science) for EWS category (Other State) in round 6 of JoSAA counselling.

is it necessary to make family income certificate for gen-ews student to get admission in nit durgapur or iiest shibpur if income is greater than 5 lakh?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 20th Sep, 2021

See as you are an EWS student then the income aspects of your family is already satisfied. Now if we consider the salary range then also you are not eligible for any scholarship or economical weak student schemes. So essentially you may not need the certificate. But I would advise you to keep the certificate ready because there are always changes in regulations among the colleges. So if there are any issues then you will have to face the problems. So it would be better to keep it ready if required show it or else don't show. But if required and you didn't have the certificate then you may have to face problems.
