Hello student ,
National Institute of Technology Durgapur might not be among the top NITs but the placement record for chemical Engineering of NIT Durgapur is far better than any other colleges. Durgapur is among heavily induatrialised towns of India and so the opportunities for Chemical Engineers are great. No doubt, academically it is great. And in terms of placement, it is also impressive. Haldia Petrochemicals, RIL, JSW Cement, Tata Tinplate, L&T etc hire chemical engineers from NIT Durgapur with an average package of 7 lpa. The highest package was around 16LPA . Around 75% of the students from chemical Engineering branch get placed in reputed organisations.
Dear Student,
NIT DURGAPUR is one of the oldest NIT among 31 other NITs. It is among the first 8 Regional Engineering Colleges established in India and was founded in 1960. And has been recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institute of Technology Act, 2007. It has the most beautiful and lush green campus which is full of life and energy. Overall, it a good institute to go for.

Hi,
Hope you are doing well.
Following are some details about both Institutes:
Rajiv Gandhi petroleum Institute of Technology:

Average CTC : INR 6.24 LPA
Median CTC : INR 6.5 LPA
Placement Percentage : 84%
NIT Durgapur for Chemical Engineering :
The highest package : 9-10 LPA
Average package: 5-5.5 LPA,
Lowest package is : 4 LPA (approx)

Both statistics are of Chemical engineering Branch. After considering these stats RGPIT seems a better choice as RGPIT is institute dedicated mainly to fields like chemical engineering. Also it has good reputation and Placement.

Hello,
If you are enquiring about JoSAA counselling for admission through JEE Main score then last year the cut off in round 6 of counselling to get admission in to National Institute of Technology Durgapur in Chemistry (5 Years, Integrated Master of Science) was 11093 for EWS category under home state quota. And the cut off to get admission in to National Institute of Technology Agartala in Physics (5 Years, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Dual Degree)) was 8216 for EWS category under other state category. Considering the previous year cut off you do not have chances to get seat in the preferred course in the preferred institutes.
With the given rank it is quite difficult to get seat in any NIT/IIIT/GFTI. However, you can apply for state counselling based on the JEE Main score. The cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.
To check the previous year cut off click on the link given below

I hope you are doing well. As I can see you want to know about the information of civil engineering in NIT Durgapur.
So its good but not that great. The faculty is average except few who really teach properly. But if you are planning for CIVIL ENGINEERING in NIT DURGAPUR, then you have to adjust with excessive classes and extra pressure compared to other departments of NIT DURGAPUR. Talking about placements statistics , 50–60 % get placed in core companies.
Hope this helps.
All the best.
I hope you are doing well.
NIT Durgapur has a wonderful college and its placements in the CSE branch have been great as well.
Recently in the year 2021, the highest package offered to a student from CSE branch was 42 lakhs per annum and on average students get placed with the package salary of 6.5 lakhs per annum.
Top companies like Microsoft, Wipro, Infosys, etc take part in the placement cell of the college.
I hope the above information helps. All the very best.
Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference which will comprise of all these factors:
You should consider NIT Durgapur over NIT Silchar
Still both the branches have wide exposure, do check your branch preference.
I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.
Good luck, hope it helps!! (javascript%3A;)
