No, you are not eligible for NIMCET if you do not have Maths or Statistics in your BCA, even if you had Maths in 10+2.

Nimcet rank1740 which college i should pursue

Pradeepa P 28th Jun, 2025

With a rank of 1740 , you can expect admission into mid-tier NITs , which still offer excellent value and job opportunities . Fill all the choices in NIMCET counselling and prioritize based on your preference and placement records.

If you belong to a reserved category (OBC, SC, ST, EWS) , your chances in higher-ranked NITs will increase.

I have statistical programming with R programming . can i eligiable for NIMCET exam . i am student of makut board of 2023-27

Samriddha Pal 28th Jun, 2025

Hello,

Indeed, you could qualify for the NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) if you fulfill the academic requirements set by the examining authorities. As per the eligibility criteria, applicants need to possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks (or a 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale) for General/OBC category and 55% (or a 6.0 CGPA) for SC/ST category.

The qualification must be at least 3 years long, including Mathematics/Statistics as a subject, either at the 10+2 stage or during college. As you are enrolled in a program at the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) for the 2023–2027 academic period, and you include Statistical Programming with R in your studies, you might qualify, as long as Mathematics or Statistics is explicitly stated in your syllabus or transcripts and you meet the minimum marks criteria.

Still, it is advisable to review the most recent NIMCET brochure or reach out to the exam authorities to verify your eligibility according to your particular course structure.

Hope this helps. All the best!

i have a four years of gap after 12th and i am doing my BCA in online mode , am i eligible for NIMCET?

harsh singh 23rd May, 2025

Yes, you're eligible for NIMCET if:

You're doing BCA from a UGC-recognized online university

You had Math/Statistics in 12th or graduation

You score 60% (Gen/OBC) or 55% (SC/ST)

There's no age or gap limit

Just ensure you complete BCA before the deadline (e.g., Sep 2025 for NIMCET 2025).

I had a backlog in 5th semester in 2024 which is cleared now. I will have less than 6.5 CGPA but more than 60% in the result. My university gives cgpa marks in the result. Will I be eligible for NIMCET?

Saurabh Yadav 7th May, 2025

Hii,

Yes, you are eligible for the NIMCET.
You have completed your backlog and achieved a CGPA of 6.5. According to the NIMCET 2025 guidelines, candidates must obtain at least 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in their qualifying test. Your CGPA is exactly 6.5, thus you meet the requirements.
Furthermore, NIMCET does not support converting CGPA to percentage or vice versa.  As a result, your CGPA of 6.5 qualifies you directly without any conversion.

The official website for NIMCET 2025 is https://nimcet.admissions.nic.in .

I had a backlog in 5th semester which is cleared now. I will have less than 6.5 cgpa but more than 60% in the graduation result. My university gives cgpa marks in the result. Will I be eligible for NIMCET?

Poludasari Akhila 12th Jun, 2025

So you're asking about your eligibility for placements with a CGPA of less than 6.5 but more than 6, and you had a backlog in the 5th semester which is now cleared.don't worry, having a backlog cleared doesn't affect your eligibility for placements. However, the CGPA criteria may vary from company to company.

Some companies may consider candidates with a CGPA of 6 and above, while others may require a higher CGPA. It's best to check with the companies you're interested in applying to, or with your college placement cell, to know their eligibility criteria. You can also prepare for placements by focusing on your skills, project work, and interview preparation. This will help you stand out, even with a slightly lower CGPA.
