Incase youre inclined towards research, there can be no better place than IIEST Shibpur. IIEST is perhaps only some of the few technical institutes with an excellently strong Alumini Base, a strong Academic and Employer Outlook. Ofcourse, if youre obsessed with the NIT Tag as well as CSE Stream, NIT Patna.. Do even check if youre getting CSE/IT/ECE at BIT Mesra, that too is an excellent option, much better than Average NITs.

Moroever , it has better infrastructure ,well experienced faculities which directly impacts on placements . Highest package offered at NIT Patna is 43 LPA this year with an average package of 5.7 LPA in electrical engineering branch, whereas highest package offered at MNIT Jaipur is 38 LPA and an average package of 8 LPA in chemical engineering branch. Hence MNIT JAIPUR has a clear edge over NIT Patna in terms of placement. Even other important factors like alumni base, academics, faculty, infrastructure is far ahead in MNIT JAIPUR compared to NIT PATNA.

There are mainly three options available to a student once the the seat allotment results are announced by jossa. Students have the option of either accepting the allotted seats with not willing to participate in the next round or accept with willing to participate in the next round or reject the allotted seat with not willing to participate in the next round counselling. So if you are allo ted seat in NIT Patna in the initial rounds you can accept it and wait for further rounds and in case you got a seat n it Nagpur you can give up your candidature in NIT Patna. In this case your paid amount it will be adjusted to the next college.

NIT Patna :

Placement percentage: 60-70 %

Median Salary: 5.04 Lakh

IIIT Kancheepuram :

Highest Salary: 55 Lakh

Median salary: 7-8 Lakh

Apart from these stats , CSE is currently most sought after branch. The placement for CSE is way better than core branches. although IIIT would have higher fees than NIT . So if fees is not an issue then you should go for CSE in IIITs because it has better career opportunities than Mechanical in NIT Patna.
