National Institute of Technology Silchar
Hello,
NIT SILCHAR is a good, greenery campus with good infrastructural facilities. The positive thing about the college is that the freedom available here and students can involve in many activities like Gyansagar (social welfare), Illuminists (Literary club), musical club, dramatics club, mountaineering and trekking club and a lot .The college has also gym facility (but with no trainer). The faculty here is not that much good. The campus has high speed net access to students. This digital library (under construction) is largest of its kind in India. The campus placements are as usual good for CSE and ECE and remaining will have to perform well in their academics. The one and only defect for this college is the transportation .One will get frightened by road journey and only two flights from Silchar to Kolkata and Guwahati. I am damn sure that if the transportation facilities are good then this campus will be among the top 10 NIT's. There is a lot to learn and enjoy in this college.
Admission through CSAB Special Round Counselling is based on CRL secured in JEE Main. Category rank is not considered but the seat allocation will be made under the category the candidate belong to, if seat is available. The opening rank 24713 in round 1 of CSAB counselling for admission to Computer Science and Engineering in National Institute of Technology, Silchar is the CRL secured by the candidate belonging to EWS category. Whereas the rank you have mentioned that you have secured is your category rank. Please mention your CRL rank to know the prediction of the institutes in which you may get seat, if any. Cut off may increase or decrease depending on factors such as total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

HI,
Admissions to all undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programmes at NIT Silchar are made on the basis of a qualifying examination, a legitimate entrance test score, and a counselling session. NIT Silchar is one of India's 31st NITs, having been founded in 1967 and promoted to NIT status in 2002. NIT Silchar offers admission to five academic programmes in distinct disciplines: BTech, MTech, MSc, MBA, and PhD. Engineering branches, managerial disciplines, basic sciences, and humanities studies are the most common UG, PG, and PhD courses provided.
The online reporting of the institute is yet to be announced.
Please Be Patient
All the best
Hi Aspirant,
Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you ,NIT Silchar is ranked at 51st within the Engineering category while NIT Hamirpur is ranked 60th . The JEE Mains closing rank for NIT Silchar is generally lower than Hamirpur, hence it is tougher to get into Silchar. So you can choose accordingly.
Hope you found this answer useful. Stay motivated stay positive.
All the best!
In my opinion you should for NIT Silchar.
If you only see in terms of placement then NIT Silchar is far better than Assam Engineering College which is in Guwahati. In NITs you will get lots of opportunities rather than other colleges like AEC or any other college state level college. Nits even provide internship also for the students. If considering job prospect, core branch jobs are on lesser side. If take core branch among 3 ,scenario will almost remain same ,little better in NIT silchar. On other hand, if considering CS in Assam Engineering college, what I knew is almost same in both depending on your hard work. If want to take core branch then definitely choose NIT silchar but if considering CS can choose Assam engineering college not much difference.
In comparing both the institutes in terms of placement NIT, Silchar is having better placement as compared to Assam Engineering College.
The reason for good placement in NIT is because of the Brand, NIT itself is a brand that is recognizable across the country. NIT, Silchar though doesn't come in the top NIT's but still it has a brand value. The average package for CSE at NIT silchar is 10.98 lpa and for other b.tech branches its 6.78 lpa whereas for AEC the average placement is aroun 4 lpa and highest is around 17 lpa given by PSU.

Good luck.
Well yes you will have good scope in NIT.
It should depends upon your long term goal and interest whether you want in core field or software or analyst .but problem is that companies for core electrical are few in number .if you want stress free life then PSU should be your destination .
If you can cope up with more responsible and pressure environment then go for private sector specially project based job where your compensation is worth your skill and experience after few years.
Best of luck.
Hey buddy,
Yes as per my knowledge National Institute Of Technology, Silchar stays close on Saturday.
Hope it helps.

Hello Aspirant,
It's quite difficult to predict cut off marks for NIT colleges keeps changing every year depending upon various factors. With 130 marks your chance for NIT silchar in CSE branch is quite low even if you are from general ews .
