I got 5300 rank in jee mains January attempt being a sc student .. I wanna know what possibilities I do have to get cse group in nit Trichy or top three courses in nit trichy

Rohan 22nd Apr, 2025

1. CSE (Computer Science Engineering):

  • Chances : Slim, typically cutoff around 2000–4000 for SC category. May be possible in later counselling rounds.

2. Top 3 Branches:

  • CSE : Limited chance, might be available in later rounds.

  • ECE (Electronics & Communication Engineering) : Possible, but competitive.

  • EEE (Electrical & Electronics Engineering)

I am an OBC female candidate expecting 157 marks in the JEE mains. May I get a CSE in NIT, Trichy, under the home state quota?

harsh singh 18th Apr, 2025

With 157 marks in JEE Mains, your percentile will be around 96–97, and your rank around 35,000–40,000.

As an OBC-NCL female candidate, it’s very unlikely to get CSE at NIT Trichy, where CSE closes under 2,200 rank (OS quota).

However, you may get CSE in newer NITs like NIT Puducherry,
