With a rank of 6970 do i have any chnance of getting nlu sonipat? I have bihar state domicile.

shwetasaini505_9233227 Student Expert 16th Jul, 2019

Hello Archana,

This is the first year that NLU Sonipat will be taking admissions and therefore, there are no previous years' records of cut-off that we can refer to.

However, since this will be the first batch you have decent chances of admission with this rank.

But I would suggest you to go for a private law college instead of this NLU as it will be lower ranked NLU for now because it is new and you will not have any seniors to guide you.

Or you can take a drop and work hard to get a better NLU next year.

Hope this helps.

i am getting 84 marks in jee advanced and general category what should i do

Ayush Kumar Singh 6th Jun, 2019
Hey Prabhat!
The expected cutoff for general candidates is around 95 marks. Unfortunately, you will most probably not qualify the exam.

Here's a detailed analysis of the cutoffs this year:
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff

My suggestion to you is to focus of counselling based on your Jee Mains score or any other entrance exam that you have appeared for as JEE Advance result would not do you any good, even if you unexpectedly qualify.

Good luck!

Hey Piyush Vijay.
No finalised schedule has been released as of yet for admission in Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat for admisison process. Even the prospectus has not been made available yet. But as per the website, applications were to open in July and tge fees could've been filled till 10th July. Considering this you cab expect the first list to be out in this month itself in the third or fourth week. You can use the link below for any updates regarding the same.

Ive scored 99 marks in clat 2019 So am I be able to get admission in any of the NLU or what would be the expected cutoff for NLU so ipat

Shreyash Kumar 15th Jul, 2019

Hello,

The cut-off is a parameter that depnds on your caste or category. The expected cut-off of CLAT is available in the website of Careers360 and when I checked it the rank should below 1,000 in order for General category to get admission in NLUs. But if you belong to SC/ST you may get to some NLUs with these ranks.

Ive scored 117.25 and my rank is 5488 but on the merit list of NLU Nagpur there are people with 102 marks. How is this possible? {general}

Hemant Jajoo Student Expert 15th Jul, 2019

Hello aspirant,

I am also from general category so I can understand your pain. The case you are talking is just that, some student from sc/st category having less score than you will get admission and you will not is because the cutoff for general and other categories are very different. The cutoff for general category is very high than compared to that for sc/st.

Hope you got my point, don't loose hope.

I hv completed my bcom.. Can I do LLB in NLU?

mahimadogra_6929406 Student Expert 15th Jul, 2019
Hey.
There are 2 types of Law courses in India- 3 year LLB course and 5 year integrated law course. 3 year law courses are for those who have completed their Undergraduation. So after completion of any 3 years of Undergraduate course, you can do LLB which will be for 3 years. Hence It would take 6 years if you start witha separate UG degree. And in 5 year law course are for those who are seeking to puruse law after class 12th. It combines an Undergraduate degree with law, for example- BA LLb, BCOM LLb, BBA LLb etc. It takes 5 years after 12th class.

National Law Universities or NLUs only offe a 5 year LLB course which you cannot pursure if you have completed any Undergraduation. But there are various other law colleges that offer LLB.

Here is a list of law entrances for 3 year LLB course

- DU LLB - Delhi University

MH CET- GLC mumbai, ILS Pune and other colleges in Maharashtra

SLAT- Symbiosis Law school

PU LLB- Panjab University, Chandigarh

LSAT- Jindal global Law school, IIT Kharagpur and other private law colleges

BHU LLB- Banaras Hindu University

BVP LLB- Bharatiya Vidyapeeth

TS LAWCET Etc

Best of luck.

asuri_1559195713 Student Expert 14th Jul, 2019

Hi Candidate,

You have scored well in CLAT. It is possible for you to get an admission in NLU Vizag only if you belong to any category other than general. The closing rank of general category is 1k which is not in the range of your rank. All the best. Hope you get a seat in the college you desire.

What are chances of getting a seat in nlu in vacancy?? And what is the process?

Vemireddy Rushita Student Expert 13th Jul, 2019

Hello Shivansh,

To get an admission in NLU you have to appear and qualify in the national level entrance examination called CLAT. If you manage to qualify in this examination then you will definitely be able to make it into the college. The admission for law courses in NLU is purely merit based.

Good luck!
