Due to time management issue I couldnt make into top nlus.I m a dropper. Can I take 1 more year drop.It gonna affect me in nlu or its safe?

ANPAM KUMAR Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

Hey there

Drop is not a solution everytime. As you are again taking a drop which will create pressure on you and also taking a drop is not going to insure a seat at national law Universities so if you are getting good law College go for them it doesn't matter from where did you studied what matters is what you studied and so be honest with your studies.

Good luck

my rank in clat 2019 is 48841 and my OBC rank is 8269 .Can i expect seat in NLU

Sayoni Mitra 21st Jun, 2019

Hi maithreya

yes there is a pretty good chance of you getting an NLU based on you OBC Category Rank.

The closing ranks are around 10000 as per last year's data. So, you can go to the official website and check this year's rank list for confirmation.

And for more detailed info go to this link CLAT Cut off 2019 (Released), 2018, 2017 - GEN, SC, ST, OBC, PwD

I have a rank of 1835 with a score of 136.5, general category. Can i expect an nlu by the 2nd or the 3rd list?

Purnima Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

Hello Vanshjaa!

Considering your rank, category status , first allotment list and past year trends, the general category cutoff has fallen to ranks of 1500-1600 and that too for low ranked NLUs. Your chances of getting a seat in NLU totally depends upon the vacancy available. You will get a clear picture once second allotment list is released. Still you can keep a check on the allotments of the following NLUs:

  • MNLU Aurangabad
  • MNLU Nagpur
  • MNLU Mumbai
  • TNNLS Tiruchirapalli
  • NLSJA Guwahati

If things work in your favour, you may get a seat in one of them or even a better NLU.

But its good and practical enough that you have already kept a backup with another good law university in hand.

All the best!

I have got 57.5 marks in clat 2019 and am a kashmiri migrant.is there in chance to get admission in any nlu

Abhilasha varma 21st Jun, 2019

Sorry Himanshu, according to above mentioned score it is very difficult or not possible to get admitted in any of the nlu college because your score is too low for that. Minimum marks is 110      to get nlu but don't get disheartened and try for some other college.

i scored 104.75 in clat and iam domicile of Himachal and General Category ..what are my chances of getting NLU?

Parvesh Bansal 21st Jun, 2019

Hi Arnav,

Allotment of seat is done on the basis of rank and if your rank is in the range of 2000-3000 you may get into HPNLU. However since HPNLU is a very new NLU not much can be predicted about the chances since if a lot of studies from Himachal opt for HPNLU then seats may get filled very fast and it may end at even 1000 as well.

Hello, Your scores too low for taking admission in nlu under general category it should be minimum 110 but you can try for reserved seat but that too is difficult because this year the expected Cutoff is increased you can find some other college. Hello sir, I am from lucknow and my all india rank is 20153 and my sc rank is 635. Am i having any chance of getting NLU??

Yash Vardhan Singh 20th Jun, 2019
Hello Ayush,

CLAT is the national level examination for getting admission into various National Law Universities in India.

With your above mentioned rank, it'll be difficult for you to get admission in RMLNLU, Lucknow even with having domicile quota. But, chances of you getting admission in lower NLUs is fair.

You can also predict your chances by clicking on the link given below:-

Hope this helps.

I scored 117.25 in clat 19 and didnt get any college on the first round but in the nlu Nagpur list I saw students with 102 marks of general

Rahul kumar 20th Jun, 2019

Hi,Aspirant

Let me tell you with 102 Marks it is not Possible for general Category Students to get admission in NLU,Nagpur. They may be Either PWD or Home state Students,if He/she Got admissions then their Might be some Reservation Criteria for her,but still after  Applying Reservation The chances for NLU,Nagpur is low with this Marks, which you have Mentioned.Don't be in rumours.
