Aashi Prakash 8th Jun, 2019
Hello,

I have got 136 marks in CLAT 2019 which Nlu should I expect

Preyas_Verma Student Expert 8th Jun, 2019

Hello Nidhi,

You must mention the rank obtained by you to get the approximation for admission in NLU. According to previous years cutoffs most NLU stop admissions at less than 1500 ranks. You can get admission in NLU, New Delhi or NLU, Cuttack whose cutoff marks are above 118 (OM) and 115 (CM).

Hope that helps and feel free to ask if you have any more queries. Best of luck!

I am getting 78 marks in CLAT i belong to Defence Category which NLU can I expect?

Shweta Ray 8th Jun, 2019
Hey Kriti!

Well 78 marks are a bit below the cutoff of CLAT 2019. Ofcourse I am no god and I can't tell you with hundred percent certainty but this year's cutoff is going to be really high with 120 to 125+. You may not get through in the top NLUs but you can try for the lower ones.
Also I would suggest you to fill IPU Law college form as you have chances of getting there. It is a good college and within your marks also. However its just a suggestion and you should apply it on your own discretion.

All the best. Hope it helps.

mansiprofessional234 Student Expert 8th Jun, 2019

Hey !

Based upon your CLAT score and the previous year cutoffs , you have chances to get into NLUs but not the top ones. The NLUs where you have chances of getting a seat are:

  • Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam
  • Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNLU), Patiala
  • Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna
  • Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai
  • Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMNLU), Lucknow

How 50% reservation in nlu jabalpur will affect the general cutoff?

Purnima Student Expert 8th Jun, 2019

Hello Ashish!

Dharmashastra National Law University will begin its first academic session this year. DNLU has been included in the CLAT fold.

This year to encourage more participation of students in admissions in DNLU, 50% of the seats are reserved for students who possess Madhya Pradesh domicile. From next year onwards the admission in DNLU will only be offered on the basis of CLAT score i.e merit-cum preference basis , which is the admission policy of other National Law Universities as well.

Such initial reservations won't affect General cut-offs much, rather it would create more opportunities for law aspirants in future.

All the best!

I am getting 92 in clat and I dont think I have a chance of getting into nlu ( general category) . Should I take drop or join any private ?

yadvi Student Expert 6th Jun, 2019
Dear aspirant

The answer to this question is highly subjective. wheather or not you get a good NLUs will depend mainly on your hard work, dedication, practice. Apart from that, this is something more you need to have and that is confidence.

Dropping a year is not a big issue but if  you have full confidence that you will surely make improvements in your result.

When you take a drop year, wheather in CLAT or any other exam, there is an inbuilt pressure to do well. I've see so many people working hard for some months and then finally losing motivation to do anything. That's why they can't clear the exam even if they are capable .

Even Unpredictability of CLAT . Difficulty of the paper has drastically fluctuated in the last couple of years. 2017 and 2018 was tough and 2019 was the easiest of them all.

See I don't mean to  discourage you from taking a drop, but I want you to know all the pros and cons before making a  decision. If done rightly, taking a year drop can help you to get through your dream college.

But , before making any decisions, think Very carefully. Take your time and then make a decision.

Hope the answer is helpful.

Good luck!

Im scoring around 114 in clat.My domicile is in west bengal. Will I get nujs or any other nlu ?

Rishie Chandan 7th Jun, 2019

Dear Suravi Chakraborthy,

Based on the rank predictor, your rank could be anywhere between 438 and 1180. The last year cutoff rank for State General category candidate was 284. Now, there is still chance for you. If the paper was hard enough, your mark will be of higher rank. There is a possibility of you getting in atleast in the 3rd counseling. You may count on it. All the best !!!

Hope my answer helped.

I am female as per answer key20019 I expected 134 marks.I am from Mp domicilio which nlu can I get.

Rishie Chandan 7th Jun, 2019

Dear Dilip,

That is a very good score. Based on the rank predictor, your rank could be anywhere between 1 and 234, depending on the difficulty of the paper. You could get into the top NLUs like NLSIU or NALSAR, even if you don't get into then, you could get into WBNUJS. If you want to study in NLIU Bhopal, you obviously can, because your mark is well above the requisite. All the best !!!

Hope my answer helped.

Yashika Notnani 7th Jun, 2019

Dear candidate

As per the previous year estimates, you have scored really well and can even get one of the top National Law Universities.

However there may be changes every year, but don‘t worry, you are eligible enough to get admitted in an nlu.

Following are the NLUs that you might get (presumption) based on previous year-

NLSIU Bangalore

NALSAR Hyderabad

NLIU Bhopal

The West Bengal NUJS Kolkata
