Hello student,
Good to hear from you. As per the previous years' cut-off, for 114 marks, your chances of getting a seat in Christ University are high. But whether you will be able to do it or not depends on your category and nativity. Opt for the branch you are more interested in. Cheers!
Hi Ashna,
This year the paper was easy and with a score of 120.5 you may get a rank in between 4000 to 5000. You can expect NLU Assam, TNLU and Vizag in vacancy. Chances of making it to the newly formed NLUs are very strong.
Hiii Tushar
Yes, taking consideration of past year trends. You might get admission in top 10 NLUs because Cutoff of SC category is less than the cutoff of general category and that is your advantage.
But due to easy paper High cutoff is expected. Let's Hope for the best.
Good luck!
Hii Kashyap
You have a decent score.you have very chance to get admsn in NLUs.Clat give reservation to Jammu and Kashmir residents. Since you belong from j&k residents .Wait till the official cutoff list.
There are the following NLUs have reservation for Jammu and Kashmir residents and ward of Kashmir migrants:
1. HNLU
2.GNLU
3.RGNLU
4.RMLNLU
5.NUSRL
The no. of seats varies in all of them but the average no. of seats is 2-5 . Except these there are no other NLUs which provides reservation for J&K students.
I hope I answer you question.
Hi Anjali,
With a score of 121 your rank may be in the range of 3000 to 4000. You can expect NLU Assam, TNLU and NLU Vizag in vacancy. You also have a strong chance of making it to NLU Nagpur and the other newly formed NLUs. In 2016 also the paper was easy and cut off went very high so you can check the cut offs for 2016 and you will get a fair idea about your chances.
Hello Mansee
Since you haven't mentioned your category I would like to inform you that if you belong to OBC/SC/ ST candidate you can surely get admission in NLU.
If you are a general candidate then with 110 marks you can expect these NLUs :
Hope it helped you
Good luck
Hello Rohit
First of all, I would like to make a distinction among the NLUs themselves because most of the newer NLUs still lag way behind the older NLUs and in my opinion, they should not be grouped together.
So, dividing the NLUs into two tiers with the first tier NLUs being the ones that are better than almost all private law colleges, and the second tier NLUs being the ones which one might actually reject for a good private college, we get the following classification:
Tier 1:
NLS Bangalore
NALSAR Hyderabad
NLU Delhi
NUJS Kolkata
NLIU Bhopal
NLU Jodhpur
GNLU Gandhinagar
HNLU Raipur
Tier 2:
All the others.
Obviously, you still have to carefully make your decision while choosing between a Tier 2 NLU and a Private college. Just as an example, I would probably choose RMLNLU Lucknow over Christ College of Law, Bangalore.
Now, if you’re doing Law from any one the Tier 1 NLUs, for five years you would have the advantages of being surrounded by a great crowd, having a very active Mooting/ADR/Debating scene in College and of course, having relatively easy access to good internships.
Most private law colleges in India don’t have a very great mooting/debating/ADR scene in comparison to the Tier 1 NLUs. Also, at these private colleges, it would be tougher to get internships at good firms on your own without using contacts. Placement figures for most of these private colleges are also horrible.
Some of the Tier 2 NLUs are almost just as bad and would generally provide you with nothing much except for your degree. Thus, choose wisely.
