Karvannan sevugamurthi 14th Dec, 2019

Hi aspirant,

NCERT books are essential in the preparation for the IAS examination. You should be strong in basics, so start with NCERT books. Don't omit them. Then study specific reference books according to the subject. History is one of the subject in this exam, so concentrate on all the subjects.

All the best.

what would be my approximate Marks in chemistry if I study only ncert 12th portions and not 11th portions

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 12th Dec, 2019
Hello there!

Greetings!

I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but you haven't mentioned the name of the exam regarding which you want to know that how much marks will you be able to get if you don't complete class 11th syllabus of Chemistry.

In case if you are asking about neet examination dear , then class 11th chemistry has nearly 50% weightage of the total questions asked in ncert, so if you skip class 11th chemistry you are directly going to lose 50% of your marks in chemistry section . So even if you answer all the questions asked from 12th chemistry, you will get only around 90 marks in chemistry section in neet examination. And if you are asking about jee mains, even then case is similar, you will lose 50% of marks in chemistry section at least.

I am providing you below chapterwise weightage for neet examination, it will give an idea about weightage of class 11th chemistry in the question paper.

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-chapter-wise-weightage-and-important-topics/amp

Go the link , and I suggest you not to skip class 11 chemistry, you should at least complete those chapters which you find easy and has high weightage.

Thankyou

does previous year question papers asked directly or twisted. if I study only previous questions and little bit of ncert will I get 120 and above and I am obc is 120 a good score. Is it possible to get above 90 percentile

PALLAV TIRIYAR 6th Jan, 2020
Hello,

Concepts given in the NCERT textbook are very helpful in cracking difficult problems asked in competitive exams. To be more specific, NCERT Examplar problems can be beneficial for practising questions. Moreover, scoring more than 120 in JEE Mains can help in attaining above 90 percentile for sure. You can practice questions from different sample papers as well. Practising questions on a daily basis helps in maintaining the accuracy and speed of solving problems within a short duration.

Is ncert enough for bits exam?

suraj kumar 26th Dec, 2019
Hello
You can start your preparation by NCERT books because basics are more important for such competitive exams. But for exams like BITSAT, NCERT is not enough. You must go through NCERT to start your preparation but practice others book too. Because different question gives you edge in your preparation. Hope this is helpful.

I want to know that in NEET examination , questions are comes only from NCERT or not ?? specially for biology ??

Siddhi Shenoy 25th Dec, 2019

Hello Sayan,

For NEET examination, the core part is based from NCERT books. But that doesn't mean you only refer to NCERT books. It is advisable to go through other reference books as well for a better outcome. The extras which are not contained in the NCERT books are included in the reference books. Some of the best reference books are RD Sharma, Truman's Objective Biology, organic chemistry by OP Tondon and so on.

Good luck!

Can i clear my 12th NIOS exam by reading 11th +12th CBSE NCERT books........ without buying Nios books

Priyanka Dasgupta 18th Sep, 2025

NIOS is a recognised educational board, following its own set of books and curriculum. The books prescribed by NIOS are closely related to the NCERT framework and are similar to the CBSE books' contents. However, students from Class 11 and Class 12 must focus primarily on the books and resources based on the NIOS syllabus . While CBSE books can be helpful, students can focus on their preparation with the NIOS books.
