JEE exam is a difficult exam to crack. It requirers lots of study and hardwork to prepare for the exam. For an extraordinary student probably it might be sufficient to read ncert only. But for an average student I think reading only ncert does not work.

There is no high difference. TS intermediate syllabus will have chapter which may not be in NCERT but that is rarest. All the chapters and modules are there in both the syllabus.
Candidates mostly prefer NCERT because most of the non numerical questions are asked from NCERT book directly.
