Ncert physics textbook is little bit difficult for some students. It has long explanations for the concepts. So reading the textbook will take some time. If you have good concepts through any video lectures, notes then reading textbook will be easy. There is sections like points to ponder which
Its dependent on the subject. For subjects like Biology, NCERT will be sufficient enough. But if you consider subject like Mathematics and Physics then NCERT may help you but you need to practice from other resources. Now if you consider chemistry then it can be really helpful in some parts

There are no major changes happens in NCERT textbooks of textbook. There are only minor changes which happens in 2-3yrs. So don't worry about that.
Just use the NCERT latest edition textbook like of year2020 & 2021 that will be enough for you.
