Its dependent on the subject. For subjects like Biology, NCERT will be sufficient enough. But if you consider subject like Mathematics and Physics then NCERT may help you but you need to practice from other resources. Now if you consider chemistry then it can be really helpful in some parts

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you by practicing only N.C.E.R.T you can't pass J.E.E mains as you need to practice some standard books which have variety of questions and different level of questions which may help you to handle the different types

NCERT is a must for competitive as well as school exams.
Go through it thoroughly. Side by side you solve Allen modules as well.

Dear aspirant

There are no major changes happens in NCERT textbooks of textbook. There are only minor changes which happens in 2-3yrs. So don't worry about that.

Just use the NCERT latest edition textbook like of year2020 & 2021 that will be enough for you.

As NTA has announced that their exam will consist mainly of NCERT Questions so you can imagine maximum questions will be directly from NCERT lines and in biology only 1 or 2 questions will be out of NCERT and other questions directly from lines of NCERT
