in the chapter biomolecules (chemistry class 12), ncert, page no. 417, sucrose forms glycosidic linkage with alpha-c1 of glucuse and beta-c2 of fructose. but the numbering of the carbon atoms of beta fructose is different from the numbering on tge previous page. is that possible??

Hello aspirant,

No, it is not possible. The glycosidic linkage formed is between two -OH groups, each of glucose and fructose. The numbering given is the same. The orientation of the molecule in the book is printed in such a way so that the reader can understand the glycosidic linkage

NO NCERT alone is not sufficient for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. NCERT might help build up basic concepts but to gain problem solving skills for questions of difficulty level asked in JEE Mains and Advanced some standard reference books might help. NCERT might help somewhat  in JEE

Since the change in the pattern of the questions has been observed in 2 years that is from 2019, nowadays the paper is 80% based on NCERT lines straight. So I suggest if you completely study NCERT by heart you will score 300 + easily.
