The eligibility criteria of NDA exam for Indian army is 12th pass in 10+2 pattern and Indian navy and air force is 12th pass in 10+2 pattern with physics, chemistry and maths. So if you have PCM in your 12th you are eligible. Candidates appearing in 11th exam are not eligible.

NDA/NA Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice a year in the month of april and december to select young boys and girls in indian armed forces as officers.
Of Course you can give UPSC NDA/NA examination being a commerce student
Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :—12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

No, Diploma candidates are not eligible for NDA exam. Candidates who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Also, students who have completed their graduation and have their age between 19 and 24 years can apply for the Indian Army.

Here is a list of the eligibility criteria regarding the NDA examination-
1. Any candidate from any stream can apply for the NDA exam. However, to get selected for the Air Force and Navy, the candidate must have studied class 11-12 with a physics and mathematics combination.
2. The Candidates are required to score a minimum of around 25% marks in each subject to clear the NDA written examination. Candidates clearing the written exam will be called in for the SSB Interview.
3. The Candidate's age must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years to be eligible for NDA 2021 examination.

NDA is the national defence academy. It is one of a kind of institution where all the three branches of the armed forces i.e army navy and airforce train together for 3 years.
Coming to your question after cracking NDA exam there is still long way to get into the NDA. You will need to crack the SSB interview, medicals and also make it into the merit list.
After clearing all these you will join NDA for a course of 3 years.Then after the completion of the course you will join the respective academies for specialised training according to your preference.
The airforce guys will join Airforce academy
Army-Indian military academy
Navy-Indian naval academy.
After this you will be commissioned into the Indian armed forces.

NDA provides admission to two different departments one is the Indian Army and the other is Indian Air Force and Naval. Now for Indian Army the eligibility criteria is that the student must pass the 10+2 examination from any recognized board. Now in case of Air Force and Naval its mandatory for a student to have both Physics and Mathematics in 10+2. As a result you are eligible for only Indian Army and not for Indian Air Force and Navy.

Although there is no limit of attempts for NDA exams...But yes there is age eligibility criteria i.e. between 16.5 -19.5 years that should be kept in mind...And as NDA have started to conduct it's exam twice a year...So keeping everything in mind you may have 4 to 5 attempts for the NDA exam. The candidates who have passed or appearing in class 12th examination are eligible to apply. As of now you are not eligible to apply for NDA. You will be eligible to apply for NDA when you are in class 12th. The age criteria is that the age of the candidate must be in between 16.5 years to 19.5 years. Candidates who have studied and passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics are eligible to join Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in any stream stream are eligible to apply for Indian Military academy. The application will be released twice in a year in UPSC official website.
