If you get a seat in first round and don't want it then you can go for free exit.

Free exit means if you get a college and you don't report to the college then you can exit from the that round of counseling.

If you get a college allotted in second round you must take admission in allotted college or you will have to loose your security deposit.

NTA is the competent authority to conduct the NEET UG 2022 exam for all eligible and registered candidates. Since your date of birth is 17 January 2005, you will be 17 in 2022 and thus be eligible to take the exam in 2022, and age will not be a barrier. First round of All India counselling of NEET is over by 19th November 2020 which was the last day to report to the allotted colleges in first round of All India 2020 Neet counselling. And Maharashtra 2020 NEET counselling started on November 5th 2020 (registration).  reporting to allotted institute was by 18th December 2020. So, as per the information if you would have waited for state level counselling result then you must have lost the All India counselling seat.
