Why aiims required 60% in PCBE if neet eligibility criteria is 50%.What happend if i crack neet and got best marks but i dont have 60 % in PCBE.I have 54% in PCBE.

Anurag Khanna 31st Jan, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

As per the Annexure-6 available in the information brochure issued by MCC, the UR/OBC/EWS candidate should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in PCBE combination and therefore it is different from that of NEET UG examination where an aggregate of 50% is required for PCB combination for UR/EWS candidates.

So if you have 54% in PCBE and you belongs to UR/EWS/OBC category then you cannot get admission in AIIMS even after scoring the best possible marks in NEET UG, as per the rules. But you can go for other central universities and other medical colleges that have higher cut-offs but AIIMS would not be available for you if you have failed to secure the minimum prescribed aggregate of 60%.

i have confusion regarding NEET eligibility as i persued 12th with PCM in 2009 but as a carrier and family suggestions i done 12th(open) again in 2021 with only 1 subject Biology kindly suggest me is I am eligible to apply For NEET 2021

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 6th Aug, 2021
Hi

Yes, yes you are eligible for NEET even if you have studied Biology as an additional /optional subject from NIOS later on a single subject after your class 12th provided you meet rest of the eligibility criteria

This is because,

The eligibility of students with Biology as an additional / optional subject is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-----------)Qualification required:-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th board examination or should have passed 12th board examinationwith physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

Important Note :- Students who have passed Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement.

-----------)Percentage required:- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-----------)Age limit:-to be eligible for neet one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination i. e 31st December 2021 in case of neet 2021, no upperage limit as of now.

So, if you fulfill this Criteria then you are eligible for Neet examination and after qualifying get admission in Medical colleges as well

respected mam/ sir require following information about neet exam candidate who already done B.A.M.S / B.H.M.S . can he give neet ug exam for medical and can he use his final year percentage for neet eligibility like its allowed in BSc biology.

Nilova Jasu 11th Sep, 2021

Hello!

Yes you can give NEET UG exam even if you have completed BAMS/BHMS. It is not related. You need to qualify NEET cut-off according to your category cut-off rank to get admission in a medical college.

The final year percentage of BAMS/BHMS cannot be used for NEET. You need to qualify NEET and the marks and rank you will get after giving the exam will only be counted for admission in medical colleges.

All the best!

Hi Seema!

How much marks required in nios class 12 in pcb for neet eligibility.I have 162 in PCB out of 300.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 8th Jun, 2021

Hi

I am assuming that you are from general category

To be eligible for neet, you should have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got:-

  • at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology  in 12th examination  if belongs to general category

  • at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

This percentage requirement is same for all valid board be it nios or any other board

Now,

You belong to general category and

Your aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in your NIOS is

=  162

=( 162  /  300  x  100 )%

= 54 % i. e more than 50% so you are definitely eligible  for neet  2021 examination  .

Also,

* to be eligible for neet 2021 one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December 2021

* There is no upper age limit for Neet 2021

* There's no limit for the maximum number of attempts/times one can appear in NEET.

For detailed information about neet examination eligibility go through our page for which link is provided below; -

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-eligibility-criteria

Now that you are eligible, and you  have limited time left for your neet examination I'll suggest you to focus on your preparation and revision,  go through mock test paper sample papers and previous year question papers as it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination.

If you have any other doubt then you can always reach us to clear them :) we are always available to help you out and guide you

Thank you
