UGC NET stands for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. It is a National level exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for enrolment in Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). It is conducted twice in a year in online mode.
It's eligibility criteria says that :-

You haven't mentioned the name of the exam for which you made the error, you can write down the details in the comment box below, however if there is any provision for correction then you can do the same, most of the application form do have correction window, else if there is helpdesk reach out to them via phone or email-id,
See while you are applying for the Assistant Professor post, then the main thing that will be accounted your aptitude through the examination you give (College Service Commission/any examination for the post of Asst. Professor) & based on that only you will be called for Interview. Now in Interview, if one has good knowledge then all those marks & other things don't matter. What matters is the thesis & the knowledge the candidate have.
Now if the candidate is not upto the mark but if he/she have a good marks in PhD or in NET then sometimes the Interviewing Board can give some preference.

UGC NET is all about Research, Communication, Teaching process, Teaching aids, Evaluation systems , thesis writing and dissertation.it held in two cycle in a year due to covid government has announced For the merged cycles of December 2021 and June 2022, the next UGC-NET will be conducted in first/second week of June 2022. The exact schedule will be announced once NTA finalizes the dates.

As your subject of Post-Graduation is an environmental science and engineering so, with these eligibility criteria, you appear for both UGC and CSIR.
If you want to appear in UGC NET apply for Environmental Science and the CSIR NET exam choose Earth Science.
CSIR-NET is conducted only in 5 subjects only for Science stream students.
UGC-NET is conducted in 81 subjects mainly for Arts, Commerce, and language.

Yes, with Msc environmental science or even ma in any course or any post graduation, you will be eligible for UGC NET and after clearing it, you can be an assistant professor, all you need is to have at least 55% marks in your Post graduation to be eligible for UGC NET
