what is net ugc Exam ? Exam Details about Net Life science

Hello Aspirant,

UGC NET stands for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. It is a National level exam conducted by  National Testing Agency (NTA) for enrolment in Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). It is conducted twice in a year in online mode.

It's eligibility criteria says that :-

>>>>>> The candidates belonging to General Category must have 55%(50% for reserved categories) in their Masters degree or equivalent exam from a recognized College or University.

>>>>>> Upper age limit is 30 years for JRF, whereas for Assistant Professor there is no any upper age limit.

>>>>>> The age relaxation goes like :-

  • OBC - 5 years
  • ST/SC - 5 years
  • Transgender - 5 years
  • Women candidates - 5 years

You haven't mentioned the name of the exam for which you made the error, you can write down the details in the comment box below, however if there is any provision for correction then you can do the same, most of the application form do have correction window, else if there is helpdesk reach out to them via phone or email-id,

does PhD mark is calculated for candidates having PhD degree without NET/SLET in universities for the post of asst. professor?

See while you are applying for the Assistant Professor post, then the main thing that will be accounted your aptitude through the examination you give (College Service Commission/any examination for the post of Asst. Professor) & based on that only you will be called for Interview. Now in Interview, if one has good knowledge then all those marks & other things don't matter. What matters is the thesis & the knowledge the candidate have.

Now if the candidate is not upto the mark but if he/she have a good marks in PhD or in NET then sometimes the Interviewing Board can give some preference.

i am 34 years old and done MCOM in IGNOU (i.e., correspondence) and secured 55.25% . whether i am eligible for 2022 UGC NET exam?

UGC NET is all about Research, Communication, Teaching process, Teaching aids, Evaluation systems , thesis writing and dissertation.it held in two cycle in a year due to covid government has announced For the merged cycles of December 2021 and June 2022, the next UGC-NET will be conducted in first/second week of June 2022. The exact schedule will be announced once NTA finalizes the dates.

eligibility criteria for UGC NET

  • All candidates must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university/institution recognized by the U.G.C.
  • For students of the general category, the requirement is 55% marks aggregate in masters degree
  • Applicants in the final semester before receiving their Master’s degree can apply.
  • Age limit for the post of JRF is 31 year and there is no upper age limit for assistant professor.

you can apply only for the post of assistant professor.forms will be out soon keep checking the website for regular updates.

I have done Msc in Environment management. What subject should I give net exam in?

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well...!!

As your subject of Post-Graduation is an environmental science and engineering so, with these eligibility criteria, you appear for both UGC and CSIR.

If you want to appear in UGC NET apply for Environmental Science and the CSIR NET exam choose Earth Science.

CSIR-NET is conducted only in 5 subjects only for Science stream students.

UGC-NET is conducted in 81 subjects mainly for Arts, Commerce, and language.

Yes, with Msc environmental science or even ma in any course or any post graduation, you will be eligible for UGC NET and after clearing it, you can be an assistant professor, all you need is to have at least 55% marks in your Post graduation to be eligible for UGC NET

OBC/ST/SC/PWD/Transgender).
