Dear student,

Due to Braking,

At = 0.5 m/s^2 ( At = Tangential acceleration )

Speed of the cyclist,v=27 km/hr = 275/18 = 7.5 m/s

Radius of the circular turn, r=80m

Centripetal acceleration (Ac) is given as:

Ac = v^2/r

Ac = ((7.5)^2)/80 = 0.7 m/s^2

Since the angle between

a merry go round has a mass of 1640kg and a radius of7.50m.how much net work is required to accelerate it from rest to a rotation rate of 1 revolution per 8 second

Ayush 10th Nov, 2020

Hi Candidate,

The force in the Merry- Go Round is produced as a result of Centripetal acceleration acting on the body (Merry-go-round) which helps the body to move in a circular motion.

The formula for Centripetal Force is given by mass multiplied by Centripetal acceleration. So, the Centripetal force= m*w*w*r.
