Working people often go for distance education to simultaneously upgrade their knowledge while working to get promoted. This doesn't mean their previous degree goes invalid.

If you haven't done your HS from the board then you can obviously go for the higher secondary examination with other subject. Although you will not be able to use both the results. You have to go with one marksheet either the NIOS or the HS.
