what decision does private and deemed University took in meeting conducted on feb11 in banglore along with nmc

Anurag Khanna 16th Feb, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

The meeting was organized between private institutions and NMC on the latest order of NMC that states that" for 50% of the total sanctioned strength in private medical colleges as well as in deemed universities, the fee should be as same as the fee in the government medical colleges of that particular state and Union Territory ." This took place on February 11th 2022 in Bengaluru, and as per some media reports private medical colleges and deemed universities are upset with the decision so the discussions are being carried out on the required levels till now nothing has been implemented for this counselling session.

If any changes would be made to it then it would be informed by MCC or by the respective college. At this point of time the counselling process is same for all seats of deemed universities and government seats of private medical colleges.

You can directly apply for 2nd round from the link given below :-

are nmc guidelines regarding fees for private and deemed universities implemented?

piyush263001 9th Feb, 2022

Hello,

------ The National Medical Commission in its guidelines has said that private medical colleges and deemed universities should charge fees for 50% of its seats on a par with government medical colleges in that State or Union Territory.

------- This benefit would go first to students admitted under government quota and “if government quota seats are less than 50% of the total sanctioned seats, then the remaining candidates would avail the benefit of fee equivalent to fees of government medical college, based purely on merit,” the office memorandum issued on February 3 reads.

------- As far as the guidelines are concerned then they haven't been implemented yet, and it's likely as per reports that the decision might get challenged in the Court from various Private Institutions

I hope you find the answer helpful.

Thank you.

according to the nmc draft about private medical fees reduced for 50% seats, these seats are through state quota or AIQ. i am confused.

Sree Student Expert 18th Feb, 2022

Hello Harshita,

As per the National Medical Council (NMC), fees of 50 percentage of seats in Private Medical Colleges in India must be near to Government Medical Colleges fees.

Through All India Quota NEET Counselling 15 percentage of Central Universities seats, Deemed Universities seats, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, etc are filled and Private Medical Colleges seats are not included in this. Private Medical Colleges seats are filled by State level NEET Councelling conducted by the State authorities. Through State Quota NEET Counselling 85 percentage of seats are filled along with Private Medical Colleges seats.

So, to apply for Private seats only possible way is State Quota NEET Counselling, through All India Quota Counselling you cannot apply for Private Medical Colleges.
