With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that if you don't like the branch that you git in your engineering college then you can easily change the branch to another branch in that same colleege.
There is a criterion of branch change in almost every college. To change your branch you must score the minimum CGPA as fixed by the institute . Every branch has its own minimum CGPA reqirement, you can contact your college academics to get the detailed information.
