Option 1: Subsidized LPG cylinders to poor households

Option 2: Free electricity connections to rural households

Option 3: Financial assistance for higher education to marginalized students

Option 4: Highly subsidized food grains to the poorest of the poor

Correct Answer: Highly subsidized food grains to the poorest of the poor

Solution : The correct answer is (d) Highly subsidized food grains to the poorest of the poor.

The Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) is a targeted public distribution system (PDS) program in India. Its primary objective is to provide highly subsidized food grains to the poorest of the poor households. Under the AAY, eligible households are identified and provided with a specified quantity of food grains at a significantly lower price compared to the open market rates.

The program aims to ensure food security for the most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged sections of society by offering them access to essential food items at affordable prices. The beneficiaries of the AAY are typically identified based on specific criteria such as their socio-economic status, occupation, and household income.
