obc candidate
Dear Student ,
First of all , you need to remember WBJEE admission through counselling is totally based on GMR / PMR , not on category ranks .
So, it will be fine if you have filled up the registration form as Gen Candidate as your admission will be based on General rank only .
But , for direct admission .. or decentralized Counselling .. may be the college authority need OBC certificate if you tell them that you are a OBC candidate . It's better to contact with the specific college authority for detail information about direct admission .
Hope this helps !
Hello Student,
I'm here to tell you that, For Josaa counselling procedure both the rank i.e. CRL and OBC-NCL category rank is used for getting admissions in prestigious colleges of engineering which are IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur & GFTIs.
Category Rank is used for getting admission to reserved seats available in the Institution.
Whereas counselling bodies other than Josaa such as TS EAMCET, OJEE, UPCET uses the CRL rank list only.
Hope this information helps you
Thank You
Hi,
With your obc rank of 42000, chances are low of getting any of the NITs. But if you have a home state quota in any of the following NITs then you might have a chance of getting Mechanical Engineering in one of these :
• NIT Manipur
• NIT Arunachal Pradesh
(Bases on 2021 cutoff trend)
Check out the cutoffs of all the NITs here - https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches
Try using the JEE Main College Predictor 2022 to predict your college, based on your rank - https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp
Good luck.
Hello Aspirant,
Cutoff varies every year depending on various factors. Keep in mind that your chances to get a seat will vary on the following basis:
Number of seats available
Number of students applied for the same branch
The category you belong to etc.
You can expect that the cutoff for OBC category may vary around 70-80 percentile. You can visit the below link to get more details about JEE Advanced cutoff:

You can also use the below college JEE Advanced college predictor :

Hope this will help you.
Best wishes.
Hello,
Let me tell you that it is not possible to predict on the basis of your percentile and that too your category rank for OBC because there are number of factors which are variable every year such number of applicants appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs.
Your all india rank would be around 7L . I would suggest you to not rely on the score card and give private college examination like SRM University, Manipal University, BITS Pilani, VIT vellore.
Hi
Firstly congrats for your rank, You can seat in Kurnool Pullaiah College because in Kurnool that the only one college is good for Engineering courses you can get seat in that with CSE Branch. But try other colleges too we will provide link below and that will help to find best colleges in Telangana State,

This rank is too high to get a good gov. college or NITs.
But you can get state gov. colleges, and other good colleges.

All the Best!!
Dear Aspirant,
It is quite hard to predict the exact situation as it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, the preferences of the students, the seat matrix of the colleges and the number of students willing to take admission.
A minimum of 1300 seats are reserved in IISER for the candidates via IAT. Looking at this trend we can say that it is quite difficult to get into IISER with this rank. In my opinion a rank below 5 K is a safe estimate.
Hence, please keep other options open as well.
You have a small chance of getting least preferred IISERs like Berhampur in the last or post allotment rounds as people leave after accepting the seats as well.
