which entrance necessary for occupational therapy in Maharashtra?

Masira 14th Jan, 2020

Hello,

Admission to Bachelor of Occupational Therapy is done through an entrance examination. Marks obtained by the student in state level/all India level examination and 10 th and 12 th , are taken into consideration by the University.Based on these factors, a merit list is made and the seats are allocated to deserving students according to this list. Many Institutes have their own entrance examination and some colleges also offer admissions solely on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.

LAKSHMI AMBIKA 14th Jan, 2020

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy course is a 4-5 year-long undergraduate course designed to produce efficient Physiotherapists that can help the physically or mentally challenged people enjoy their life without any hindrance. There are around 25 institutes in India that offer the course.

Currently, there is no national level council to regulate the profession of occupational therapy in India. However, efforts are underway to create a national level council. The All India Occupational Therapists Association offers voluntary registration with its Academic Council for interested OT practitioners in India. what is the procedure to get admission in bsc in occupational therapy in lokmanya college?

Pankhuri Kumari 4th Dec, 2019
Dear student
Basically occupational therapy courses in India are offered through NEET in India, i.e., in order to get admissions in BSc occupational therapy, you need to clear neet first and then through counseling rounds, select the college for studying the course. Lokmanya college too, offers bsc occupational therapy through neet as it is affiliated to University of Mumbai and accredited by MCI ( Medical Counsil Of India ). I hope  that's clear.
Good luck!

What is the best option in medical except neet with an high salary

Divya Jain 17th May, 2019
Hi bhumika,
First of all if you want to pursue your career in medicine, so I would like to tell you that there is a wide range of options available apart from NEET.
Payscale in any sector depends on your skills. Master any profession you choose and you'll definitely make good money.
Well.. Following are the options you can choose:
  • BDS (BACHELOR OF DENTAL SURGERY) : It is the very first option that comes to mind after you talk about MBBS.  But now, the admission to BDS is also through NEET. So a good score which is low for MBBS can help you grab a BDS seat.

  • BHMS, BAMS: Homeopathy and Ayurveda also can be considered but again most of the colleges are considering NEET score for the admissiom to these courses too.

  • Nursing: It is a forever going profession and is highly paying. Grab a nursing degree from reputed institutions like AIIMS, CMC, AFMC etc and I assure you of a bright future. But before you choose nursing please keep in mind that this profession requires a lot of hard work and dedication and you have to do it with all your heart. And yes,  Nurses get highly paid in foreign too.

  • Physiotherapy: Another constantly growing profession in India and Abroad. Physiotherapy also requires you to put in constant effort and hardwork. If you want to pursue a bachelor degree in physiotherapy then you can check you colleges like IPH NEW DELHI, NIRTAR IN ODISHA, JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA, JAMIA HAMDARD, AJIPT etc.

  • BIOTECHNOLOGY: If you have studied Mathematics in class 12 then you can consider btech in biotechnology otherwise you can go for bsc in biotechnology. If you are interested in research work then this is it.

  • Apart from the above mentioned degrees,  you can go for MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN, BSC RADIOLOGY, BSC OPTHALMOGY, PHARMACY, BACHELOR OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, BACHELOR OF PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS etc.

Hope it helps!!
