Hi Sachine,
Yes you can pursue MTech in Hydrology or Marine Biology. As Most of the institutes/universities in India offer postgraduate course in Oceanography or Marine Biology. The minimum educational qualification for this course is a bachelor’s degree in science i.e. B.Sc. either in Zoology / Botany / Chemistry / Fishery Science / Earth Science / Physics / Agriculture / Microbiology / Applied Sciences or in any other equivalent disciplines.
One can also pursue MTech in Hydrogology or Marine Biology. The minimum qualification is MSc and sometime a valid GATE score is essential for admission to this program.
Hope this will help, please feel free to ask if you have any further queries.
Thank You.

Dear Aspirant,
Goa University is a State University with NAAC A accreditation. The Department of Marine Sciences at GU was established in 1985 and now has become a coherent and cohesive forum for postgraduate teaching and Oceanography is the branch specialisation of the same. It collaborates with various other institutes like National Institute of Oceanography, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR) and Indian National Centre of Ocean Information Service (INCOFS).
The eligibility criteria state that the candidate must have got a minimum aggregate of 40% marks in their respective discipline for their Bachelors. The admission will be thereafter based on the merit list which is published by the university in the subject in the qualifying exam. A candidate applying for M.Sc. in Marine Science must have obtained a Bachelors degree in Science with at least seven units of 100 marks when all the three years of study are taken together in either of the following subjects: microbiology, botany, zoology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and earth sciences.
For specialisation in Physical Oceanography, the Candidate must have pursued their B.Sc. in either Physics, Maths, Electronics, Computer Science and IT. For Chemical Oceanography, the candidate must have pursued their B.Sc. with either Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Hope this helps. All the best!
