Is b tech engineering physics student from iit eligible for ongc through gate or any other OSUs ?

Hello Jai,
Yes he can go in ONGC but not through GATE. Generally, ONGC hire Engineer Graduate Trainee of Core Engineering Branch like Civil Engineering, Instrumental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. For other branch, they hire directly from institute or direct recruitment through personal Interview or written test.

Actually graduate engineers are exempt from this as this is for diploma holders but it is asked by some companies. This is generally issued by the Govt and differs from state to state. However, you could ask the ONGC HR which ones are valid and what they are looking for.

Dear Shivani

Yeah definitely you can able to apply for the Core companies like ONGC...but rather to apply via CSE domain go with the ECE branch because in core companies like ONGC and all there are more number of seats for Core branches rather than Non Core branches.

Yes, you are aeligible to appear GATE through mechanical engineering even if you ahve completed BTech in Production Engineering. So you can apply for the same
