The cutoff varies year to year. To get admission in MIT Chennai you require more than 60 / 100 in GATE for ECE branch as a General category.

career 360 gave marks vs rank- for 441 to 450 marks, rank was predicted to be 22114- 19548. I got 449 marks but All India Rank is 49212. why

EE or chemical or production engineering has also very good scope in future....but mainly you will be placed in an IT Company......so you can think yourself what's the condition of placement.....

Basically what happens in prepatory courses is that you are taught once again PCM for one year in IIT itself and then u are eligible for taking admission in IITs
