To become an oncologist after completing your 12th (Science stream), follow these steps:

1. Pursue MBBS: Clear entrance exams like NEET to get into a recognized medical college and complete a 5.5-year MBBS degree.

2. Complete MD: After MBBS, appear for PG entrance exams (NEET-PG) and pursue a 3-year MD in General Medicine or Pediatrics.

3. Super Specialization: After MD, qualify for DM (Doctorate of Medicine) in Medical Oncology, which takes another 3 years.

4. Gain Experience: Post-training, work in hospitals or research institutions.

The entire process typically takes around 11-14 years, including studies and specialization.

Hello!

To become a radiation oncologist, you require B.Sc in  applied physics, MBBS or BDS degree from a recognized university.

After your graduation, you need to pursue MD in Oncology or MD in Radiotherapy followed by DM (Medical Oncology).

After completion of graduation and post graduation in Radiology and Oncology, one can join start working as radiology oncologist in public and private firm.

Hi,

To be a radiation Oncologist, one needs to have post graduation degree (MD in Oncology/Radiotherapy) from a recognized institution. So, for pursuing MD , be it in any specialization, it is mandatory to have MBBS degree. You cannot join MD course with B.SC hons degree. So, you cannot be a radiation oncologist by pursuing B.SC Hons.
