Is neet compulsory to take admission in bsc oncology ?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 23rd Apr, 2020
Hi Divya

No NEET examination is not required for BSC oncology or any other BSc degree.

NEET examination is only compulsory for getting admission in Medical college for :-

  • Medical courses i.e MBBS
  • Dental courses i.e BDS
  • Ayush courses i.e BHMS , BAMS etc
  • Veterinary courses i.e BVSc

So if you are interested in doing bsc oncology you don't need to worry about neet examination at all.

If you have any other doubt feel free to ask:)

Thankyou

which is best bsc course . on the bases of scope 1) Radiology 2) oncology

Mayank Chowdhary 4th Mar, 2020

See which is best cannot be said by me because each of them have it's own pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages, it's own opportunities and placements. So its you, who have to know where your interest will lie more so that you stay dedicated for the same and give your best in that field.

First, the word “oncologist”  is used to narrate a physician that does mastery in treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist works alongside surgical oncologists and medical oncologists to determine if and how radiation oncology fits into a patient’s treatment plan.

A radiologist specializes in using medical imaging techniques to diagnose and treat different conditions, including cancer. In fact, almost all cancer cases require a radiologist to perform an imaging procedure for the initial diagnosis, whether it be a CT SCAN, MRI SCAN or XRAY.

what is difference between mbbs in oncology and bsc in oncology

Mayank Chowdhary 4th Mar, 2020

Subjects taught in Oncology work on the studies of medicine dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. They can also diagnose the cancer and predict when it had actually started. Also along with this, they also learn how to recommend most suitable treatment options and recommend the best curing plan for the patient. They are familiarised with the various types of specialisations in oncology which is medical, surgical, radiation and paediatric.

You get to treat patients in true only after you have pursued MBBS and earned that degree since that only allows you doing it. By BSC you can just lend some hand having information of the same, but cannot treat or cure patients.

Refer to the site for more details..

MD Radiation oncology as career option.. can Radiation oncologist run his/her own clinic.. is this a emergency branch... what is the difference (clinical aspect) bw radiation oncologist and onco-physician..

IMran Mir 30th Jan, 2020

Hey there,

Greetings!

Hope you’re having a great day.

I would like to inform you that good training in radiation oncology requires modern XRT machines, CT sims, good medical teachers and physicists, experience with modern treatment planning systems and dedicated Brachytherapy facilities. A good training should increase one's employment scopes manifold. Radiotherapy residency from a top institute guarantees good job prospects, fellowships, SRships and registrar jobs paying almost six digits per month while training from average centers guarantee nothing. This is in stark contrast with many other clinical branches where an MD and own acumen is all that is required.

Let me know if you have further clarifications by mentioning it in the comment section below.

Have a nice day!

I wish that you have a bright future ahead.

Thanks.
